Thank you for the information on the family. During the summer of 1996, my
wife and traveled by boat up the Main River from approximately 50 km
southeast of Frankfurt, across the Main-Danube canal and down the Danube to
Vienna.  Beautiful country! Our travels were just east of the Swabia region
but being there seemed like being a little closer to our ancestor's land.
Maybe some day we can return and go to the Stuttgart area and explore the
family's origins.

We, in the Neterlands, are very impressed by all the work that you and George
did to find the roots of the Leibbrandt name.

All combinations of spelling variations exist here: ie, ey one b, d, dt.

I cannot add very very to the info you already have, only this:
In 1938 my father found that in de village Kleiningersheim next to Ilsfeld
about one third of the inhabitants had the name Leibrand or some spelling
variation, but that was not the root of his grandfather.
Ilsfeld and Kleiningersheim are about 8 miles northern of Stuttgart.

My fathers' grandfather was on his way from Ilsfeld to the USA in 1838
via Amsterdam, but he stayed there and married the widow of a baker.
He had learned his baker profession in Switzerland.
He was the first of this root in the Netherlands
