The last time I only looked for John Leibbrandt and Katherine Raile, now I have downloaded many of your pages. I was wondering if there is another Leibbrandt (with dt) branch in the USA than the decendents of the Hofnungstaler branch, but did not look well into my own file. My objective with the "Leibbsite" is to combine all Leibbrandt-genealogycal information and to make it open wordwide for all Leibbrandts and others that are interested. My father did some research to find his roots in Germany in 1938. The results are now also in the Leibbsite. It began last year when Bernd Schaefer in Stuttgart (the eldest son of the well known south African Sidney Robey Leibbrand) found my homepage and faxed me his papers. I put them on the web, and then many others sent me their information. ___________________________________________________________________________ When you are interested I can all material that came in, put on a CD and send that to you. The "Leibbrandt_archive" material is sorted to according the originators that send it to me. I will then also put my complete website on the CD, including the hidden photogallery. Is that a good idea? Is your address, as next, complete? Penny Raile West Hollywood, CA USA Greetings, Hans Leibbrandt ____________________________________________________________________________ Hans, I was pleased to receive your email inquiring about Katherine Raile and John Leibbrandt. Katherine was a younger sister to my grandfather, Gottlieb Raile. John's parents were Gustave Peter Leibbrandt (born. August 12, 1863,in 1884 emigrated to Aurora/Nebraska/USA, † 27.1.1946 St. Francis Kansas, ) and Katharina Gienger. I believe you already have this information on your web site about them. Katherine Raile Leibbrandt 1896-1991 Katherine was born September 21, 1896 at St. Francis, Kansas. She married John Leibbrandt (1888 - 1953) in 1916 and the couple had four children. They operated a farm west of St.Francis. She had an interest in family history and compiled the first Raile family tree. Children of Katherine Raile and John Leibbrandt: Anna Delphine Robert Clinton Raymond Herbert Haddon Walter Anna Delphine Leibbrandt died in infancy in 1916. Robert Clinton Leibbrandt was born in 1917 and married Gladys Lindsten. They had one child named Robert Clinton Leibbrandt, Jr. Robert and Gladys live in Falls Church, Virginia. I have not corresponded with them for a couple of years. Robert is very interested in genealogy. Raymond Herbert Leibbrandt was born in 1921, and I can not remember anything specific about him. Haddon Walter Leibbrandt was born in 1924 and married Lucile Metzler. They had five children: Evelyn Gale, Russell Ray, Marji Joyce, Kerry Jo and John Haddon Leibbrandt. Many descendants of this particular branch of Leibbrandt's still live in St. Francis, Kansas. Many of them continue to farm the land homesteaded by their ancestors when they arrived in America in the late 1800's and early 1900's. John's father, Gustave was a charter member of the Salem Lutheran Church. Most of the members of the church were immigrants from Hoffungstal, Russia (now Ukraine). Even though the families were from Russia, they were Germans. I believe you also have this information on your web site. The Leibbrandt Family in St. Francis is a well respected family in this small rural area of norhtwest Kansas. There is much family pride and interst in family history and traditions. If you are interested in getting more information and pictures, I would be glad to help you. Please let me know specifically what you are interested in and I will see what I can do. I think I may have copies of land records, marriage certificates, birth records, obituraries, etc. Your web site is very good. I am interested in how you were able to make your family records available. I have tried to create a GEDCOM file but it is only available locally. What do I need to do? I linked your web site to mine. I hope that is all right with you. I am looking forward to future communications.
