The William Lybrand of the URL you sent appears to have remained in Arkansas all of his life. I have found 3 other William Lybrands and have been able to trace all but William, son of Joshua in Mississippi. This family moved back to South Carolina prior to 1860, then Joshua was killed in the US Civil War (war between the states) as a confederate soldier. I have not been able to trace his wife and children after that. I am still looking and will let you know if I come up with anything. Lybrand born abt 1850 in South Carolina. He is later found in Jefferson Co., AR married to Pauline . William M. Lybrand and Pauline Johnson are the parents of Daniel Jacob Lybrand and Lula Lybrand. There are probably other children. I found a Jacob and Nancy Lybrand in the Jefferson Co., AR 1860 US Census, with children: - Reubin, - Catherine, - John, - Cedric, --> William M. <-- and - Joseph G. The William M. in this Census was born in 1850 in SC. I believe this is a connection. Family tradition has William's father as a Jacob and it is a family name. Any help would be appreciated. Will share the little info that I have. BTW: Daniel Jacob Lybrand is my step-father's great grandfather. Thanks, Dana Smith in South Dakota William M.
