III: 1752-1753; 1997, p. 210: The Petition of Hendrick Lybrand humbly setting forth that the petitioner came into this province form Germany on the Encouragement given here to foreign Protestants and shipt himself and his Family on board the Ship Elizabeth bound from Rotterdam to this Port and has payed his passage money as appears by the Inclosed Discharge of Mr. John McCall, he is now Desirous to be a subject of his Majesty King George and to Live in this Province he has a wife and three children viz Christian aged 23 years Simon 18 and Maria Magarata 16 years for whom nor yet for himself has any Land been granted, prays to run out 250 acres of Land free of Charges and that he may have his most Gracious majestys Bounty.  Cha’s Town, the 18th day of March 1853, Hen: Lybrand.  The prayer thereof was granted.

1724 in Germany, Catharina Weiss born about 1700.  All children born in Germany.

II. Johann Christian Lybrand born 8 October 1728 and died in Lexington District, SC. Came with his parents to South Carolina, listed as 23 years of age.

e. Jemima Caroline Lybrand born 5 January 1820, died 19 December 1841; buried Nazareth Lutheran Church, Lexington, SC.
f. Mary Ann Lybrand born 31 October 1821, died 7 December 1909; married Andrew Jackson Clark born 28 October 1818, died 24 December 1892, son of Cornelius Clark and Nancy Lee.  Both buried Clark Family Cemetery.
g. Julia Ann Lybrand born 30 May 1824, died 3 May 1914; married (as his 2nd wife) Jeremiah Hook born 24 January 1814, died 21 February 1898, son of George Philip Hook and Elizabeth Sharp. Both buried Nazareth Lutheran Church, Lexington, SC.
h. Catherine Barbara Lybrand born 9 July 1829, died about 31 August 1919; married 1) George Moore and married 2) Col. Alfred Mims born 13 November 1828, died 2 December 1894.  Catherine and Alfred Mims were buried at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gilbert, SC.

3. William Lybrand born 1787 Lexington County, SC. He married about 1808 in Lexington County, SC to Barbara Sease born 1793 Lexington County, SC, daughter of John Mark Sease and Nancy Shirer.

Lewis Lybrand born 20 May 1811 Lexington County, SC, died 3 December 1878; married about 1832 in Lexington County, SC to Emily Baker born 3 November 1811 Lexington County, SC, died 6 February 1899, daughter of Samuel Baker and Catherine Gartman Kyzer.  Both buried in Family Cemetery on old homestead. (Cedar Grove, p. 186, 188).

married about 1848 in Coosa County, AL to Jacob Kelly born April 1816 Lexington County, SC
and died about 1901 in Coosa County, AL. 

4. John N. (Jack) Lybrand, Jr. born 1 May 1791 Lexington County, SC, died 1864 SC.  He married about 1814 Lexington County, SC to Sarah Elizabeth Fulmer born 6 May 1795 in Dutch Fork, SC, died March 1865; daughter of Aberhart (or Abraham) Fulmer and Mary Susanna Summer. a. Martha Rutha Lybrand born 9 September 1814 Bear Creek, Lexington County, SC, died 27
August 1914 SC; married Emmanuel Derrick born 19 April 1806 died 6 April 1895; son of Andrew Derrick and Catherine Hiller. Both buried in Family Cemetery on his old home place in Lexington County, near Chapin, SC on the Old Lexington Hwy.
b. David Delano Lybrand born 24 October 1817 Bear Creek, Lexington County, SC, died 27
December 1888 Van Zant County, TX; married 1) 6 December 1838 in SC to Ann Elizabeth Stingley born 23 July 1823 SC died 20 September 1839 SC in childbirth (Information on her marriage comes from her mothers’ bible.  Her mother was Ann Barbara Derrick Stingley, the entry is dated  5 August 1863); he married 2) before 1856 in Lexington County, SC to Mary Elizabeth Jeffreys born 18 February 1830 SC, died Van Zant County, TX.  He is buried in  Marvin Chapel Cemetery, Van Zant County, TX.
c. Joshua Lybrand born 20 July 1820 Newberry County, SC, died CSA; married before 1856 to Mary E. Frazier born about 1825.
d. Westley Allen Lybrand born 9 January 1823 Newberry County, SC, died 11 April 1908 New Holland, Aiken County, SC; married about 1839 in Aiken County, SC to Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth Derrick born 11 February 1826 Aiken County, SC, died 25 May 1907 SC; daughter of Andrew Derrick and Catherine Hiller.  Both buried New Holland Lutheran Church Cemetery, Aiken County, SC. Mary Ann Elizabeth Lybrand born 20 July 1825 Newberry County, SC, died 18 August 1919 SC; married about 1844 in SC to Jeremiah Hilliard Rauch born 23 May 1818 SC, died 1850-59.  She was buried in the Rauch-Lybrand Graveyard #45, later moved to St. Peter's (Piney Woods) Lutheran Church, Chapin, SC.   
f. Lucinda Caroline Lybrand born 27 February 1828 Newberry County, SC, died 1886; married 18 February 1847 in SC to Elias Frick born about 1820 SC. She was buried beneath the waters of Lake Murray and has a memorial marker at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chapin, SC.  
g. Louisa Celinda Lybrand born 9 December 1830 SC, died 5 March 1933; married 17 December
1846 in SC to Henry Mathias Wessinger born 20 October 1826 Lexington County, SC, died 26
June 1862 in the Battle of Hilton Head, SC (CSA). Both buried in the Henry Wingard Cemetery
near St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Chapin, SC.
h. Chaney Francis Lybrand born 17 August 1833 SC died 1928; married about 1856 to 1) Jessie
Ballentine born about 1840 SC.  She married 29 October 1857 to 2) Jacob Francis Koon III born
16 March 1833, died 1871 (from wound received during service in CSA) (two children from this
marriage) and she married 3) William Franklin Koon born 25 November 1839, died 8 February
1921 (brother to Jacob Francis Koon III).  Jacob and William Franklin Koon were buried in the
Jake Koon Family Cemetery.
