We are pleased to see that the cultural inheritance of King Liutprand is kept alive 
by the "ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE LIUTPRAND".

There are indications that the worldwide Leibbrand(t) family are the descendants of 
King Liutprand, but a real proof is missing.

The development of the spelling of the name from the 8-th century to the 16-th century 
may have gone as: 
    Liutprand -> Leutprand -> Leupprand -> Leipprand -> Leibbrand(t) 

The name appeared  in VILLINGEN (Württemberg) 1439 as: LÜTBRAND, later LIEPRAND, 
LEUPRAND, LEIPRAND and now as Leibbrand.

Can you help us to find more material that indicates that the Leibbrand family are 
the descendants of King Liutprand ?

We know already that a 1000 year old map exists where the name Liutprand is used 
for a place somewhat above the Bodensee in Württemberg.

We hope you can help the Leibbrand family looking for their roots in Lombardy.
