Thank you for sending your  LaBrant family information.
I did not know that the  Labrand, Labrant, Lebrant, LaBrandt, or LaBrant spellings are American Leibbrand's from Ohio;
 I always thought they were French.

Maybe it is possible to connect your line to the big L-tree.
Can you send me more information?

Dear Hans,

While it would take a considerable amount of time for me to parse bits of family history I have available locally, 
there is (these days) an historian in every family, and mine is no exception.

Jonathan Leibrandt
Birth:  1808   , , Germany 
Death:  25 JUN 1875   Sandwich, De Kalb, Illinois 
Spouse:  Margaret Eisenbrei , Marriage:  1832   , Tuscarawas, Ohio 
 



I have a family tree beginning with Jonathan (Johann?) Leibrandt and Margaret Eisenbrei of Wurttemburg, ca 1932.

Some time after moving to the United States, the name spellings included 
Leibrandt, Leibrand, Labrand, Labrant, Lebrant, LaBrandt, or LaBrant.  
They settled primarily in Ohio, and branched out from there.

I am Eric Arthur LaBrant, son of Arthur William and Beckie, son of Gene Avanet and Bertha, 
son of Arthur Duane, son of Jacob Astor, son of Jonathan Leibrandt.

We're having a small reunion in July.  Please feel free to forward any questions you may have.
